I have always been so envious of people who knew exactly where their ancestry and lineage stems from.

You’re not white enough. not black enough. You’re a coloured. A product of colonization.

For years, we’ve been told that we had no culture, let alone that it held any power. Our culture is in our minds and in our memory. It is in the way we walk. The way we talk. It’s filled with words that you won’t find on paper or the dictionary.

It is who we are now and forever.

How can we look at our culture as something that’s powerful when all our lives we’ve been told it doesn’t exist.

Lost in the misconceptions about who we are and what we represent we forgot how powerful coloured culture is. it is powerful for many reasons

I sat down with two young, coloured entrepreneurs, who started a business to help promote coloured culture. They shared their story and expressed why they think coloured culture is powerful.
