Blogging as a student journalist is important for many reasons.

Blogging has become an integral part of journalism. Online media is evolving and so should journalists. Having an online presence in the form of a blog is a powerful tool student journalists can use to document their journey.

A Blog is a platform where young journos can publish their own ideas and own stories. You learn many skills as a blogger. Blogging is a good way for student journalists to practice writing and to create a web presence for themselves. When you become a journalism blogger you automatically learn how to write, research, and edit or your work. Essentially, you are running your own media platform.

It will help make you a better journalist and it will help you get a job. It is a great resource for student journos who want to create a portfolio for themselves. It is exceptionally good and also easy way to kick-start your career. Future employers want to see that you have written pieces and also shown growth in your work.

Blogging is a way for news organizations and journalists to be more transparent and interactive with their audience. It is important to know your audience and when you have a blog you can engage with your audience, you get to see comments and feedback that will help you improve on your craft, and it also prepares you for when you start your career in media.
